Proofreading
$10. per page (about 500 words per page).
This is the final stage before publishing or submitting your work. It includes checking grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting issues, and checking for typos and double words.
Copyediting
$12. per page.
This is where I will check for consistency and flow, word usage, and offer suggestions which preserve your authentic voice. I’ll also double-check the table of contents, footnotes, bibliography, etc. to ensure everything is accurately numbered.
Proofreading and Copyediting
$15. per page.
This bundle includes both services.
About the process
For American English I use the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary. For British English I use Hart’s New Rules and Oxford English Dictionary. I will also follow any project-specific style guide you may have. I mainly work in Word track changes or Adobe PDF, but I’m able to use whatever editing tool you prefer. If you prefer a traditional edit with pencil on paper, I can do that too.

My name is Rachael Chaudhri. I’m a proofreader and copy editor. My mission is to help you get your writing out to the world with confidence. I want to take the anxiety out of the editing process, so you can concentrate on writing your stories, essays, blog entries, etc. You’ve spent time crafting your piece and getting it as close to perfect as possible. I’ll be the second set of eyes to catch anything you’ve missed. I love stories and language. I love reading, and I want to help you get your stories out into the world.
I understand how difficult it can be to write in a second language. Learning Celtic languages and writing my college essays in Welsh really humbled me. If English isn’t your first language, and you feel like you’re struggling to express what you really mean, I can help with that in a gentle and positive way.
My qualifications:
I have a degree in Welsh from Aberystwyth University, UK.
